Welcome

Look forward to a new career

Many women will say that returning to work after having a baby is both nerve-wracking and exciting in equal measures as they look forward to collaborating with colleagues again but wonder how they will fit in being a parent and doing the best for their child with the time constraints of work. It could be that their previous career is no longer suitable perhaps because it involved working unsociable hours or required overseas travel and so they may come to the conclusion that they may have to rethink their career path.

If childcare such as nursery is available and desired then the choice of career is wider but if not there are limitations regarding nursery drop off and pick up times, so it is worth finding out what is available locally before considering your options.

Whilst on parental leave it is a good idea to research updating any qualifications that you have or need to widen the range of jobs that can be applied for. This may involve undertaking a college course or even going to university. This can be an exciting prospect and shouldn’t be disregarded as many universities welcome mature students on their courses and research has shown that returning candidates do very well academically.
