As the majority of adults will spend a large part of their lives working, being happy in your choice of career is vitally important. Having that job satisfaction is crucial to our mental and physical well being and can affect our home life and relationships too.
When first choosing a career path, usually in our later teen years or early twenties, most of us have very little life experience and so it feels like a shot in the dark. The best advice is to choose something that you are good at and that you enjoy doing so for instance if you get satisfaction from working with animals then pursue a career that involves animals in some way such as a vet, veterinary nurse or working at a safari park or zoo.
If you find yourself in a job where you are unhappy it is useful to try and identify what aspects of the job you dislike and investigate whether there is anyway you can change that. For some people giving up a job unless you have got something else to go into is not an option financially so looking at somehow improving the job you have or changing your attitude to the job is sensible.
