Anxiety levels high for students

Students are seeming to be suffering from a high level of anxiety compared to the rest of the nation. A recent study shows that’s female undergraduates reported the highest levels of anxiety and across all ages of students, 10% are expected to have a higher anxiety level compared to the rest of us.

This is a worrying statistic and reaffirms what many students and teachers have been discussing about too much pressure being out on them.

Feeling anxious can definitely have an impact on the ability to learn and concentrate and therefore will have a knock on effect on exam grades. If anxiety is not treated and the correct counselling or help offered then this can lead to depression putting people out of work for longer and having a serious impact on their well-being.

If you are a student worrying about exams or workload of student life in any way, then speak to your uni reps to find out about counselling services and support groups that may help.
